Esau Andrade was born in Tepic Nayarit, Mexico in 1963. He comes from a folk art background. Although largely self-taught, he attended La Escuela de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad de Guadalajara (School of Fine Arts at Gudalajara University).
The lush color and composition in his paintings show his connections to folk art while fantastic elements such as flying angels, link his style to magic realism.
He has exhibited both individual and collective exhibitions in Mexico and abroad, in places like Talent Gallery (Mexico City), Galeria des Artistes (Puerto Vallarta), Gallery One (Puerto Vallarta), Chac Mool Gallery (Los Angeles, CA.)
