Rachel Fisher

Rachel Jean Fisher was raised on a farm in Northern California. 

She moved Oregon in 2011 and received her BA in Creative writing from Southern Oregon University in 2013. She began painting animals at an early age, and continues in that niche today. After being a “local artist” for over 10 years, she now lives in the high desert of northern Nevada with her husband Jason and their two dogs, Kyle and Betty. Whether she’s hiking mountain trails, paddling white-water rivers, birdwatching, scuba diving, or traveling to new places, she’s always paying attention to the little details that make the natural world so extraordinary. Those moments find their way into her paintings.

Every piece begins as an original watercolor inspired by real animals, and somewhere along the way, imagination takes over. A tiny bird might celebrate with a glass of champagne. A fox may look like it's about to invite you to tea. 

Rachel loves creating artwork that feels both familiar and just a little magical.When Rachel is not in her studio, you'll usually find her outdoors with Kyle and Betty, exploring a new hiking trail, watching birds, planning her next adventure, or working on her next fiction novel. 

Rachel is also a published writer, exhibits her art work in various juried art shows and is on permanent display at ART-on-FIRST, a Gallery of beautiful things. 

Her unique line of greeting cards is sold nationwide, and er pet portraits have been featured in Curve Magazine.
