BIO

“I’ve never been one to blend in, and my jewelry speaks to those

who embrace their authentic spirit.”

~ Gale Schadewald

Creating jewelry is more than just something I do with my hands. It’s a way of channeling the untamed beauty of the outdoors into something you can wear every day. From my studio in Fort Collins, CO, handcraft each piece of acid-etched

copper jewelry, inspired by the rugged textures and intricate details found in nature.

My designs capture that raw, organic feel, whether it’s the jagged edge of a mountain or the soft curve of a wildflower petal. Each piece reflects a spirit of individuality, made for those who embrace their own unique path.

Before diving into jewelry making, I spent years on the frontlines as a wildland firefighter. From an Engine Crew with the Minnesota DNR to battling blazes with the Colorado USFS as a Helirappeller, I learned first-hand the resilience of the wilderness. These experiences deeply influence my approach to jewelry making, grounding my designs in the same raw strength I saw every day in nature. After leaving the fire industry, I transitioned into graphic design, eventually becoming a Graphic Design Manager. This sharpened my eye for detail and deepened my appreciation for visual storytelling, helping pave the way for my jewelry making journey.

In 2014, I began creating jewelry seriously, and by 2017, I took the leap to pursue it full-time. That leap allowed me to immerse myself completely in my craft, making pieces that reflect the same grit and beauty I encounter in nature, pieces that honor both the outdoors and those who wear them.
