Pyrography and acrylics on Poplar
Born and raised in the shoulder of suburbs and farmland of Tigard, Oregon, Daniel Harrel, the youngest of three children, often found himself outside in the woods, adventuring, battling, wandering until the sun set with a friend or two or often by himself. A graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle with a degree in Visual Communications, Daniel’s focus was on illustration—visual storytelling. After forays in various occupations, while raising four children of his own and being a foster parent for nearly 15 years, he has taken a dive into the fine art world of landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and in the last few years uncovering images hidden inside raw wood through pyrography and acrylics. His aim is to connect you to a place, a time, a moment or a story that gives you hope, peace, joy or a thought that moves you or makes you wander and ponder.
